The foods which always rot in the gut, making us toxic, creating foul body odors and wreaking our health are those which are highest in protein. Modern humans eat too much high-protein foods. It is not possible to completely digest cooked high-protein foods.

Undigested protein will readily putrefy (rot) in our warm gut, just as milk spoils at room temperature on a warm day. Putrefactive byproducts are highly toxic and carcinogenic. They include: methane, hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans (which yield the rotten egg odor when carried out by the methane gas), cadaverine, putrescine, ammonias, indoles, skatoles, leukomaines and host of other toxic and carcinogenic gases and substances. Just as hydrogen sulfide gas will decompose concrete, iron and steel sewer pipes, it will irritate and destroy the flesh inside our intestines and colon.

The foods which always rot in the gut are: meat (red and white — cow, lamb, pork, fowl and fish), dairy products (cheese, butter, eggs and milk) and beans (including peanuts and products such as tofu). Eating these in meal-size portions on a daily basis inevitably leads to disaster.

As revealed in Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s book, The China Study, and in other studies (visit the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine’s site: http://www.pcrm.org), the human populations with the lowest incidences of the major killer diseases of the West eat a plant-based diet with very little meat. My and my colleague’s experiences reversing the common degenerative diseases of the day — from Crohn’s to colitis to diabetes to asthma to cancer — via a vegan diet with minimal amounts of raw or germinated/sprouted nuts and seeds (the vegan foods which are highest in protein) bear out my assertions.
