Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s Review

Dear Friend,

Please add a good review to Google Books for my Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s book if you can. There is only 1 bad review by someone saying it’s “extreme.” Yes it is! Health is extreme, and health is the one and only goal. Anything less than the total health plan in Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s will only perpetuate IBD illness and suffering. The only way to be free of colitis, Crohn’s and any other inflammatory bowel disease is to remove all of the causes of disease and to live a 100% healthful lifestyle. “Extreme health” is easy, liberating, wonderful and the normal and natural way we were meant to live.

For extreme health & happiness,

Dr. David Klein
Director of the Colitis & Crohn’s Health Recovery Center

Charlie VanKirk’s Ulcerative Colitis Healing Testimonial

“These testimonials are exactly what people like myself (eight years with UC) need to inspire us, giving us a ‘kick in the ass!’ They are the motivational, truthful, driving force behind the necessary drastic lifestyle changes that we must make in order to heal ravaging diseases.

“As a client, I can confidently tell you that the best way to help yourself and others is to buy Dr. David Klein’s books. In my opinion, Dr. Klein is the ‘Grand Master of Digestive Healing.’ Please use the info he has so diligently put together over the years from to his own experience healing UC and many clients’ IBD healing experiences as well.

“There is no secret to healing—it just takes hard work with a commitment to living better than you ever have! Listen to Dr. Klein and to those who have been healed or are on their way to becoming healthier than ever. I can say with extreme confidence that my mentor, Dr. Klein, has saved my colon and possibly my life. I definitely have a much better quality of life since studying his works and am happy to shout out the good news at every opportunity. Never give up—we can be cured!”

Immensely sad news: Obama administration starting a $billion drug development center

After reading today’s immensely sad news that the Obama administration has decided to start a billion-dollar government drug development center, I can only think that Mr. Obama and the world need to know that Natural Hygiene self-healing/health education is the far better alternative. People need to discover the University of Natural Health and read publications on Natural Hygiene by Dr. Hebert M. Shelton, myself and others (,,

The advent of new drugs used to combat colitis, Crohn’s and other gastrointestinal and digestive diseases has only made people sicker and made it more difficult for them to self-heal. In recent years, hundreds of clients have come to me after their colons and general health were severely damaged by antibiotics and Accutane — they are extreme poisons and are too often ruinous. Their habitual use can cause irreparable damage. Are they ever necessary? Certainly not! We cannot poison ourselves to health!

“Anti-biotic” means “anti-life.” Antibiotic drugs circulate throughout our bodies and cripple, weaken or destroy the mechanisms of ALL cells, not only the bacteria in the gut. They are similar to insecticides and fungicides. “Bad” bacteria do not actually cause inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD); they merely consume toxic matter, the rubbish which results under unhealthful eating habits. There is no reason to kill the “bad” bacteria; they will be flushed out of the body when we change to a healthful diet, as taught in Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s. If we use drugs to kill them, we will poison our entire body. When people improve after antibiotic use, the body accomplished any healing on its own despite the extra toxic load of the drugs. Only the body can heal itself!

The new trend in medical treatment for inflammatory bowel disease is immunosuppressants. Our “immune system” is our God-given defense system, our “guardian angel brigade.” Does it ever make sense to suppress the body’s self-healing/self-preservation/health-restorative mechanisms? No! Our immune system never does us harm — that notion is a grave medical misunderstanding. The immune system is only hyperactive when our body is extremely toxic; the immune system’s cells only work to break down (detoxify) the toxic matter in the bloodstream and in toxin-saturated tissues. The “auto-immune” theory is false; the body never “attacks” itself for no reason but, rather, the immune cells break down toxins and dead cells for disposal. We cannot create health by suppressing our self-healing mechanisms with drugs; in all cases we want the immune system to work at full strength at all times. Immunosuppressants weaken our God-given life force, suppressing symptoms, but they have no ability to heal us — they only interfere with healing and drag us down further into the abyss. Healing cannot take place in a body that is defiled with immunosuppressants.

Via the immune system and other physiological equipment and processes, the body can and will detoxify on its own and restore health if we stop poisoning it with toxic foods and drugs and get onto a wholistic health program. To heal we must eliminate the causes of disease. Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s teaches how to identify the causes of IBD and replace them with biologically-correct, health-promoting lifestyle habits. The self-healing program taught in Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s is time-honored; it has proven to be effective because it is grounded in a proper understanding of our biological, physiological, psychological and spiritual needs and it is based upon the laws of nature. Those who’ve read the book can request my assistance and I will happily guide them to health. I do this almost every week, year-round, and the results are typically superb.

I and other Hygienic Doctors teach Natural Hygiene: the science and fine art of healing naturally and living healthfully. With special care, all forms of IBD and most other diseases will self-heal, and most people can attain new long-lasting vibrant health, free of disease and medical intervention. I wish this for you and everyone.

Yours for true health education,

Vitamin D is reported to be a significant factor in IBD — planning to keep getting yours this winter?

Planning to keep getting your vitamin D this winter to stay healthy & happy?sunshine I just bought rubberized boots so I can go for walks in the muck on my favorite trails all winter and get some sunshine on my body.

Vitamin D is reported to be a significant factor in IBD. The “sunshine vitamin” helps with the assimilation of vitamin A which is vital for reparing mucus membranes in the bowel. Vitamin D also helps blood clotting and nerve function, and it combats depression.

Here’s some advice from colleague Dr. Timothy Trader from my magazine, Vibrance issue no. 3:

Ask the Nutritionists V3

Q: Do glass windows block all of the sun’s essential rays? Why do house plants do well indoors if they get only filtered light? If we can’t get enough sun in the winter, should we take a vitamin D supplement?

Dr. Timothy Trader’s response: Glass windows do block most of the spectrum of the sun’s rays. While not all of the components of the rays have been proven to be beneficial, this does not mean that they are not necessary for life. House plants do not do as well as plants growing outside. Houseplants are essential to our indoor health; they help us by giving us oxygen and cleaning the air of chemicals. Sunlight from windows and some light from the light bulbs at night help. Full spectrum bulbs may help meet your plant’s and your own light needs; however, the best light is obtained outdoors.

Colitis and Crohn’s Diseases: They Are Healable
by David Klein, Ph.D., Hygienic Doctor
Director, Colitis & Crohn’s Health Recovery Center

Dave@treeColitis and Crohn’s inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are debilitating afflictions which ruin the lives of millions of people worldwide. The medical consensus is that there is no “cure” for these conditions and, at best, they can only be “managed” via a lifetime of detrimental drugging. The majority of sufferers place themselves under medical care, only to be told that: diet is not a causative factor; no specific diet will result in lasting healing; lifelong drug therapy is the only sensible course to follow; and if, in chronic cases, this is unsuccessful, surgical removal of the colon is generally the prudent course to eliminate the symptoms and avoid impending cancer.

None of these common medical assumptions are true and, tragically, millions of lives are wrecked year after year by this stance which is based upon ignorance of human physiology. While the attending gastroenterologist means well, he unfortunately does not know anything outside of the realm of drug and surgery treatment and possesses no knowledge of the cause and purpose of disease or of the conditions required by the body for healing. Few gastroenterologists are sanctioned to provide or even recommend non-pharmacological healing approaches to IBD. Medicine never results in health.

Happily, when we care for ourselves properly, removing the causes of disease and supplying the requisites for health, the body invariably works its wonders of healing, and is restored to health. A close study of physiology in the context of health science, such as taught by Natural Hygiene educators, reveals this self-healing power. Under proper care, the body will heal inflammatory bowel diseases, even advanced cases, as I did 24 years ago after severe ulcerative colitis. Since 1993, over 1,000 of my clients have experienced similar success.

And, there are several thousand who can also vouch for this natural healing approach to IBD. There is even more good news: several natural health doctors, such as myself and other health coaches, are available to guide IBD sufferers to complete lasting health. My guidebook, Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s, is the world’s bestseller in its field and is readily available through my office, online at, at where is has been ranked #1 in its field, and can be found in a growing number of bookstores. I take great pleasure in counseling several new clients every week, and most heal up within 2 to 8 weeks, going on to enjoy a life free of IBD.

So, what causes IBD? In a nutshell, stress on four fronts: 1. lifestyle stress, the foremost factor of which is dietary: eating foods incompatible with our biology, causing toxicity and indigestion; 2. mental/emotional stress (which includes the impact of incorrect, disempowering beliefs about health and disease); 3. societal stress (such as working too-long hours); and 4. environmental stress (pollution). Genetics and germs do not cause IBD; rather, IBD is caused by lifestyle choices and lack of proper education about the factors in disease and health. In other words, we need to learn how to restore health by healthful living and eating. And we can!

For almost 200 years, Natural Hygiene teachers have taught that unhealthful habits (which include ingesting and injecting poisons into the body) cause illness, and that the body is a self-healing organism which expresses distressing symptoms when its vital domain is threatened. In cases of IBD, the biggest culprit is acid-forming diets, including indigestible, cooked, fatty foods—primarily animal meats, dairy products and fried oils. Cooked meat provides little if any usable protein or fiber and it putrefies in the gut. Meanwhile, cooked oils are carcinogenic, plain and simple. Both irritate and ravage the bowel, causing inflammation, diarrhea and other distressful symptoms. Irritants (toxic matter and gases) cause bowel inflammation when toxins have built up to a life-threatening level. The body does its best to expel the irritating substances, but in cases of IBD, it is overwhelmed by the magnitude of the task.

Diarrhea and the inflammation response are self-purifying, self-healing actions intelligently enacted by the body for the restoration of health. Inflammation is the body’s protective immune system—our “guardian angel”—hard at work, preserving its vital domain. Remove the causes of the disease response, get plenty of rest, allow the inflammation process to complete its job, and the body will become purified, the inflammation will cease and health will be restored. That’s the physiology of self-healing!

Inflammation is not something to be suppressed under any condition. When we do, we suppress healing. Only the body can heal itself and it will under the proper conditions. Understanding your self-healing power is liberating!

What is the proven healthy, healing alternative to an unhealthful meat-based diet? In general, during the healing phase, for those whose diet was primarily cooked, it’s best to partake of a simple, low-residue, low-fat, vegan diet of certain sweet fruits and lightly cooked vegetables, potatoes and squashes with fresh juices. This is to be followed by a post-healing diet with more fruits plus raw salads, lightly cooked plant foods and moderate amounts of fatty vegan “protein foods” such as raw avocados, nuts and seeds for health maintenance. A vegan diet of 75% to 100% raw foods is recommended. Self Healing Colitis & Crohn’s teaches the specifics of how to incorporate this approach. Specific eating guidelines must be followed; they are liberating in their simplicity and superior nutritional benefits. Improper food choices and combinations are detrimental; one must get the right education and guidance for a successful healing outcome. Yes, a vegan diet can supply all the protein, fat and carbohydrate satiation we need to heal and stay happy and dynamically healthy. Virtually every disease condition, from A to Z, has been overcome through applying the principles of Natural Hygiene: “the science and fine art of healthful living.”

For a disease-free life filled with youthful vitality, it behooves each of us to implement more and more healthful living (Hygienic) practices. This invariably results in our feeling better and better and getting more and more enjoyment out of life.

    Here’s to your glorious health!
